Insurance Carriers
Create, view, and update insurance carriers. Per OpenDental API.
What are Carriers in OpenDental?
Insurance Carriers are the insurance companies (e.g., Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna) that your patients have coverage with. Each carrier stores contact info, address, and the Electronic Payer ID (ElectID) used for e-claims. Carriers are the top-level setup—Insurance Plans and InsSubs are linked to carriers. Create carriers first before adding plans or enrolling patients.
