Payment Plans (PayPlans)
Dynamic payment plans for procedures/adjustments. Per OpenDental API.
What are PayPlans in OpenDental?
PayPlans let patients pay off procedures and adjustments over time. Dynamic PayPlans attach to specific procNums and/or adjNums, generating periodic PayPlanCharges (e.g., monthly). Set PayAmt or NumberOfPayments, ChargeFrequency (Weekly, Monthly, etc.), and optional APR for interest. Patients make Payments that apply to the plan. Use Close to end a plan (outstanding interest is charged). Insurance payment plans (PlanNum > 0) exist but are created differently.
